HMAS Kuttabul Memorial Service

Today the 79th Anniversary Memorial service was held for the sinking of the HMAS Kuttabul. The HMAS Kuttabul was an accommodation ship that was sunk on the first day of June 1942, at the hands of Japanese midget submarines that invaded Sydney Harbour during WWII.

Representatives of St Vincent's College, along with a few other local schools are invited to be a part of the ceremony each year. This year, Year 9 students Manon and Baily attended the service with Ms Parish to lay a wreath as a sign of communal support and collective remembrance for the lives of both the 21 Australians and six Japanese soldiers who were lost as a result of the conflict.
