Foxford Program: Vinnies Agile Learning

Introducing the Foxford Program, the new name for Vinnies agile learning.

The following is an extract from Mrs Fry's letter to our parents and carers:

"I hope that today was the start of a new kind of normal for your daughter. The great adaptability of young people and their digital fluency, I believe, will help them immensely to continue with their learning journey of 2020.

There has been much confusion about the language being used to describe this period of our operation as a College. Some are calling it remote, others agile, others online and others distance education. I thought it important to have a common name for this platform and it was to our rich tradition I went to for inspiration.

In the annals of the history of the Sisters of Charity one of the most revered is the Story of Foxford. It is the story of how the Sisters responded to a period of devastating social and economic conditions, and how they responded with innovation, ingenuity and at all times provided a sense of community and hopefulness. The term “extensively useful” was used to describe the methodology they used of trying to meet the unprecedented needs of the residents of Foxford.

They used new technology to set up a woollen mill which is still operating today to be the stimulus for a whole region. This is our Foxford moment as we try to respond with innovation, hope and resilience. We therefore will refer to the range of initiatives we are using to remain extensively useful as The Foxford Program."

We look forward to sharing our learning journey with you as it develops.
