Father Daughter Relationships - Madonna King

The SVC Fathering Project hosted an evening with guest speaker Madonna King.

Last night the Fathering Project hosted the very well respected journalist/author Madonna King. 

She spoke about the very sacred relationship between Fathers and Daughters – despite all the potential during the teenage years for angst, misunderstandings, awkwardness and hurt – this relationship remains one of the most formative for a young woman’s adult identity, relationships with others and her sense of well-being. 

There were a large number of fathers present last night, which shows the growing strength and presence of the Fathering Project within the College.  This weekend is the “Dad’s Round” of our sporting fixtures, when we ask fathers to make a special effort to accompany their daughter(s) to Saturday Sport and then celebrate afterwards with an iced chocolate/coffee and conversation on the way home.  A ‘selfie’ of you and your daughter can be sent through to Harriett Powell, our Public Relations Captain, to be uploaded.  Please use the #SVCDads@sport. I hope you find the time to read this article by Madonna King that was recently published in the Alliance of Girls’ Schools magazine.
