Visit our Principal, Anne Fry and our Director of Boarding, Maryanne O'Donoghue to find out about the opportunities a St Vincent's College Potts Point Boarding experience can provide for your daughter, as we celebrate 135 years of Boarding!
We recently asked Hannah Quinn (Dubbo) and Gemma Fitzgerald (Coonamble) about what being a Vinnies Boarder means to them...
“At first it was hard being away from family, but everyone supports each other. The size here is important, we are really connected and treat each other like sisters. Mrs Fry, our Principal, knows our names and all our families’ stories. She comes to Mass with us, judges our little competitions and chooses to sit at our dinner tables, instead of the staff table. It is really comforting to know that she really cares who we are.
The values are really strong, and we are supported by our Co-ordinators and all the staff. Growing up in the country, we’d see people go away to boarding school and when they came back you could see they had grown; they were confident and independent. Being a Vinnie’s Boarder, you get to meet so many people and experience opportunities you just can’t get in the country. If someone was thinking of sending their daughter to boarding school, we know it is so worth it, all the blood sweat, and tears are worth it”.
