Boarder Initiative - Fundraising for Can Assist
Our Boarders’ are currently in the process of registering as members of the St Vincent's College Boarders team established to support a fundraising activity by the Cancer Assistance Society of New South Wales (Can Assist). Can Assist is a not-for-profit charity established to help ease the financial burdens of NSW country cancer patients and their families. The campaign, ‘Can Do the Distance’, is asking us to reflect on the distances rural cancer patients need to travel for their treatment and care. The participants (our boarders) are asked to commit to challenges of their own choosing during the month of August.
Once the boarders are registered they will be listed on our fundraising page. We need your support to help us reach our target of $500 (we would be very happy to significantly exceed this target). We have nominated Can Assist NSW as the recipient of any donations we receive. They will be able to support rural, regional and remote areas of NSW where there is a need.
