IGSSA Athletics - Homebush Athletics Stadium - 28/29 August
The College team will compete in two lead up twilight meets at Homebush on Friday 9 and 16 August. The College Athletics team will be finalised after these two meets, with one girl permitted to compete in each event at the IGSSA Carnival at Homebush next term, on the afternoon of 28 August (heats of hurdles and 800m) and all day on 29 August.
Fitness sessions on Mondays will now be at Rushcutters Bay and Wednesdays are at E S Marks, and all girls selected in the squad are to attend as many of these sessions as they can. The College bus will leave Rockwall Crescent at 3.20pm and will return at 5.30pm, or the girls can be collected from the track. If the athlete is training outside of school with a private coach she must let Ms Jacobs know. All athletes are encouraged to continue their training over the holidays, so please speak to Tash to get a program or join her squad.
Please note that Ms Jacobs will be on long service leave for the first two weeks of next term, however, Mr Graham will be taking the girls on a hire bus to the track to train with Tash as normal. The bus, however, will leave from Victoria Street at 3.20pm. Permission notes are now available from Ms Jacobs at training or at school.
ST CATHERINE’S NETBALL COMPETITION
Congratulations to SVC 6 (Junior 1), SVC 9 (Junior 4) and SVC 12 (Junior 7), who all made the Grand Finals this week as well as SVC 11, who played off for third place. WELL DONE EVERYONE! Pocket authorities will be allocated to SVC 9 for winning their division in the St Catherine's competition. The notification will be entered onto students' Edumate accounts and the pocket authorities are put on blazers towards the end of the year.
It has been a successful season at St Catherine’s on Wednesdays. This is not because of winning games, but because of the big hearts that our girls display with respect to their coaches, each other and the opposing teams. That’s what makes SVC girls very special. A special thanks to parents and Boarding co-ordinators who drove Boarding students back to Potts Point after the games. SVC Sport cannot function without your generosity.

The YEAR 7 NETBALL PROGRAM was a big success, with De Lacy House winning the Round Robin points. Those enrolled were a delight to teach, displaying open minds to learn more each week. We look forward to watching many of them play in the IGSSA competition next term.

IGSSA NETBALL TERM 3
Training sessions for juniors and seniors start the first morning back, Tuesday 23 July at 7.30am for some teams, so please check the website and don’t miss your first session.
Juniors SVC 17 and 18: As the term starts on Tuesday, you will miss your Monday afternoon slot. Therefore, you will train on FRIDAY 26 July at 7.30am - for the FIRST WEEK ONLY.
Training is essential to attend for learning purposes, boarder transport planning, venue discussion and team synergy. Nothing positive is achieved if you do not attend training with your team.
Games begin Saturday 27 July - the first Saturday back next term. Please consider Sydney Saturday morning traffic, and make sure you allow plenty of time to get to your venues and arrive 30 minutes before start time for warm up.

IGSSA Football and Five-a-Side
Another term of Sport drew to a close with the girls playing their last soccer games over the past weekend. As always, the girls represented the College well and showed good sports-womanship in all their matches.
Over the season we had some great results:
- SVC 1 finished 4th in the senior second division
- SVC 2 finished 2nd
- SVC 3 finished 5th
- SVC 4 finished 4th.
Special mention must go to SVC 2 and SVC 4 who showed such great improvements throughout the season. SVC 2 were on an undefeated run until they met the top teams at the end of the term, however, they came away with a 6-2 winning record.
A huge thank you to all of the coaches for a great season and also to the parents who came and supported each weekend. It is great to see you all there cheering your daughter and her team on. Hopefully we will see some of you at the Five-a-Side competition next term.
Next term we have eight teams entered in the local 5-a-Side competition running at Moore Park Synthetic Fields by Ascham School. These small teams will be training before their games on Saturdays and are asked to be at the field 45 minutes before start time. The first game will be on Saturday 27 July.

Please make sure you keep your fitness level up over the holidays as the IGSSA competition will also be strong. A big thank you to the dedicated coaches and to parents for your support at games throughout the season.
Due to unforseen circumstances we have two places available in Year 7 hockey. If you are interested in becoming part of the team, please contact Ms Laura Wiggins as soon as possible (during the holidays is ok) email: laura.wiggins5@gmail.com.
